This is huge: Bojangles, one of the best fast food breakfast spots in America, will officially expand to the West Coast for the first time ever by early 2025.
We’re not talking about the debut of just a single store front, though. According to Eater, the chain known for its delicious fried chicken and biscuits dishes plans on debuting “upwards of 30 units […] in Southern California, with the first one slated for Los Angeles County by early 2025.”
With headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, the fan favorite already boasts locations across Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia, clearly staking a claim on the South’s culinary scene.
Will California fall in love with fried chicken as well? Given the popularity of fried chicken joints in the area already, our bets are on yes.
How many locations does Bojangles have?
Cofounded by Jack Fulk and Richard Thomas in Charlotte back in 1977, Bojangles currently operates over 800 restaurants nationwide. Yes, that’s a lot.
“From the moment I was first introduced to Bojangles, I knew immediately that this was a brand that I wanted to be a part of,” said entrepreneur Lorenzo Boucetta, the man behind the upcoming Los Angeles County expansion, in an official statement. “The delicious chicken, biscuits and breakfast, combined with strong unit economics and unparalleled support made the decision a no-brainer for me. […] The opportunity to grow Bojangles in California presented itself at the perfect moment, and I am thrilled to bring this iconic brand to the market for the first time.”
Last year, the company also announced its intention to open 20 stores in the Las Vegas area.
Bojangles to open 30 new locations
Although details regarding exact construction and opening dates are still being kept under wraps, an official press release notes that the first L.A.-area Bojangles will likely debut in “early 2025.”
According to the release, Californians can expect over 30 storefronts to open in the area over the next six years.
Suddenly, we’re craving a large box of fried chicken.
