Time Out says

Though most of seminal power pop group Big Star's founding members are no longer with us, their music most certainly is. The band's surviving drummer Jody Stephens is paying tribute to their legendary album Third with a reimagined Big Star lineup: latter-day alumni Ken Stringfellow and Jon Auer of the Posies, Mike Mills of R.E.M., Mitch Easter of Let’s Active, and Chris Stamey of the dB’s. Even more impressive are the evening's guest appearances: Jeff Tweedy and Pat Sansone of Wilco, Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo, Robyn Hitchcock, Dan Wilson of Semisonic, Benmont Tench from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Jessica Pratt, Brett Harris, Django Haskins, Skylar Gudasz and more. The Kronos Quartet will lead a full backing orchestra conducted by Big Star orchestra arranger Carl March. The concert will be filmed as part of a DVD release slated for Spring 2017.
