The Sunset Strip Music Festival returned for the sixth year, shutting down part of the historic Sunset Boulevard over the weekend for three days of music. The festival started with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts rocking the
House of Blues on what was officially declared Joan Jett Day in West Hollywood. Festival-goers filled the street from Doheny to San Vicente on Saturday as over 30 bands and artists took to five different stages and filled the air with tunes ranging from high energy punk rock to soulful R&B grooves. Featuring many LA-based artists and centering around iconic venues like
The Roxy and
Whisky A Go Go, the SSMF continues to honor the area's musical history. Linkin Park, themselves descendants of the Sunset Boulevard music scene, headlined this years event, supported by other fan favorites, such as AWOLNATION, Wale and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
