Time Out says

You might be more familiar with this Brazilian’s dramatic performance in The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, singing recognizable David Bowie melodies, or his role as Knockout Ned in City of God. But it’s his haunting tone—inspired by soulful legends like Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson—combined with elegant Portuguese over acoustic tunes that keep fans engaged. It’s hard to believe the Sao Paulo based singer/songwriter (and father of two) didn’t pick up a guitar until he was 20. His acting career may have brought him stardom, but for Jorge—“the renewer of pop samba”—music comes first.
