Time Out says

Beyoncé is bringing her Club Renaissance to L.A. and—well, that’s about all we know.

The two-night event was announced on Thursday (and, of course, just about immediately sold out) with almost zero details. The Amazon Music-presented, 21-plus event will take place on December 17 and 18 at a location that’ll be announced to confirmed guests on Saturday.

If you were able to get through to the ticketing page before they were all snatched up, you would’ve encountered a one-per-guest policy, as well as an ID verification process (to seemingly cut down on scalpers, though social media posts suggest that tickets were free).

So what is Club Renaissance actually? And will Beyoncé be performing? We can’t answer those definitively, but we can offer some informed guesses. To start, the singer dubbed intimate, Studio 54-esque, celeb-filled parties that she hosted in New York and Paris as “Club Renaissance” earlier this year—we doubt this public-facing series will be anything like those. Some small type on the event poster says “Parkwood invites you to experience Renaissance in spatial audio,” so it may very well just be a hi-fi listening session. With both a visual album and a tour on the horizon, we also wouldn’t be surprised if the event serves as a means to gather footage for either of those.
