Kimpton Everly Hotel makes quite a first impression. A sky-high foyer leads around to a sprawling bar-cum-lounge area you could quite happily sit in for days, thanks in no small part to the excellent range of cocktails made by a chatty and welcoming bar staff, and a smattering of cozy seating areas in which to sip them.
Once you reach your room you’ll find a comfortable and simple space lifted by some fun little details—a set of playful prints pinned to the wall, a mini-bar packed with fancy snacks—but otherwise the Everly doesn’t go overboard on frills. You’ll see why when you look out of the window: The views here are staggering, and if you’re lucky enough to bag a room facing north you’ll be treated to an unrivaled look at the Hollywood Sign.

Hollywood can get pretty hectic and overwhelming thanks to the number of tourists who flock here, but the nabe is famous for a reason: This is the place to be if you want to see many of the sights and attractions for which Los Angeles is known around the world. The Walk of Fame, Capitol Records Building and Chinese Theatre are all just a couple of blocks from Kimpton’s front door, and a short drive in the other direction will take you to Griffith Observatory and the Hollywood Sign.
