Golden Box (CLOSED)

Located in the former Writer's Room space next to Musso & Frank's, Golden Box is a nightclub and bar that harkens back to NYC in the '80s, when the scene was more about artists collaborating (and, yes, dancing) than it was about taking Instagram selfies and ordering complex cocktails. The small space (a box, really) is decked out in gold disco balls, a DJ cage, and old tear-outs from Interview magazine shellacked onto the floor. Catch DJ Smiles on Fridays and you'll be dancing all night long.
