Friday

Head on over to the Autry for this month's installment of Odd Nights, a night market packed with everything imaginable—beer gardens, live music, bounce castles, over 200 artisan vendors—and then some (i.e. horse parking; yes, horse parking).

If you're in the mood to be scared silly, the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride crawls its way through the Old Zoo just on the other side of Griffith Park—but really, all Halloween events and haunted houses are in full swing.

If you're a fraidy cat like us, then consider spending your night with, well, cats. The National Feral Cat Day: Faces of Feral art show is bringing beautiful photos of stray cats to the Arts District along with live cuddly kittens and "meowtinis."

Saturday

Start your Saturday with plenty of beer and none of the Oktoberfest chaos. The inaugural Burbank Beer Festival is transforming San Fernando Boulevard into an outdoor street festival featuring more than 85 brews on tap from local and out-of-state craft breweries.

Afterwards—though we suppose it might be smarter to eat first—make for the coast and the Off the Hook Santa Monica Seafood Festival. Enjoy underwater delicacies, cocktails, live music and chef demos at this Santa Monica Pier food fest.

C'mon grab your friends for an all-day Adventure Time celebration at NerdMelt. You'll find voice actors, screenings, music and free drinks assembled to mark the release of a new book from the universe of the cult favorite animated show.

After the sun sets, make your way to the Griffith Observatory for this month's Public Star Party. Admire the moon and constellations through the Observatory's 12-inch telescope or one of the hundreds of other savvy star enthusiasts' personal scopes.

Sunday

Make your way Downtown for today's CicLAvia: Heart of LA. The car-free, bike-friendly fest is taking over 6 miles of streets with performances, vendors and all sorts of general whimsy. Brush up on our favorite things to see and do along the route, and make sure to stop by the MacArthur Park hub to grab one of our discount-filled spoke cards—you know, only if you want to save a few bucks at Chego.

If you're spending your day on the Westside instead, stop by the Getty for the final day of In Focus: Animalia. Take a closer look at animal representations throughout history, with both portraits and film footage from famous photographers.

Back east, sample bites from Silver Lake's finest restaurants and more at the Eastside Food Festival. Over 25 hand-selected vendors will be serving up their best, including Pine & Crane and Alimento, among others.

Venture deeper into the Eastside for a performance from the Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández. The famous and acclaimed Mexican dance company wraps up a two-night stay at the Luckman with spectacular costumes, music and dances that originate from regions all over Mexico.

Close out your weekend with us once again atop the Montálban Theatre on Vine as we present a Rooftop Film Club screening of When Harry Met Sally. There's so much to love about the film, from Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan’s just-this-side-of-smug central couple to Carrie Fisher and Bruno Kirby as the petri-dish of marital dysfunction, but we particularly chose it because of the late Nora Ephron's perfect romcom screenplay.
