Friday

Relive the sexy, semi-incestuous exploits of Sebastian and Kathryn at the Rockwell on Friday night for the Unauthorized Musical Parody of Cruel Intentions. The Sarah Michelle Gellar-approved parody follows the events of the 1999 film—which just so happens to be one of our favorite teen movies.

Afterwards, head down the block to Harvard & Stone to knock back a glass of mezcal at its Bar Ilegal Pop-Up. Sip the mezcal company's finest concoctions, as well as Mexicali beer for $4-10, and enjoy a late-night food menu from K-town's celebrated Guelaguetza.

Saturday

Make your way to Westwood on Saturday morning for all of the sweet offerings at the Sugar & Stilettos Bake Sale Extravaganza. Pick up baked goods from the likes of Bouchon and Sweet Lady Jane at this annual fashion raffle and charity bake sale.

Over on the other side of the city, embrace your inner bookworm at LitFest Pasadena. The annual fest holds a series of readings and performances throughout the pedestrian-friendly plazas and alleys of the Playhouse District; make sure you're at Vroman's at 5pm for a conversation between legendary food critic Jonathan Gold and Kogi's Roy Choi.

Though we're still weeks away from Memorial Day and the summer solstice, outdoor movie season goes into full swing tonight. Though Cinespia's already sold out—surprise, surprise—you can grab tickets for Pitch Perfect at Eat|See|Hear, Fight Club at Electric Dusk Drive-In and Pretty Woman and Grease at Street Food Cinema.

Sunday

Of course you didn't forget that Mother's Day is today. But let's say, just hypothetically, that you did, you might want to make a brunch reservation. Why not grab a seat on the patio and order Mom a complimentary cocktail at Gracias Madre? After all, the name translates to "Thank you, Mother."

Also, let's say—again, just hypothetically—you forgot to pick up a gift. Lucky for you, two of the biggest local artisan showcases are taking place this weekend: Echo Park Craft Fair and the Unique LA Spring Show. You'll find a similar selection of handmade wares at both of the events, though Unique tends to skew slightly more upscale (plus moms get a free rose with admission on Sunday).

Close out your weekend at the Improv with some of the funniest women in comedy. Sarah Silverman, Retta, Garfunkel and Oates, Keegan-Michael Key (who is not a woman, though certainly hilarious) and others headline Stand Up! For Girls. Proceeds benefit girl-empowering charity the REALgirl Foundation, with cocktails and a silent auction before the show.

Find more things to do this weekend by clicking each day or by heading over to our weekend calendar.
