If you're looking to stay closer to home, head to the Saban Theatre for Whose Live Anyway. Davis and Joel Murray.

Saturday

Get your drink on at the tenth anniversary of LAWineFest. The annual event brings over 500 wines, brews and spirits from all over the world to Raleigh Studios Hollywood. Cheers!

Celebrate all things weird and wonderful on Saturday at Obscura Day. The offbeat adventurers at Atlas Obscura have planned an international day of tours, hikes and meet-ups; around LA, you can do anything from a behind-the-scenes look at the Valley Relics Museum to a falconry lesson in the middle of the desert. The day wraps up with an early evening marshmallow roast at Vista Hermosa Park.

It's outdoor movie night in LA. Our top picks for films under the stars: A Cinespia screening of Vertigo or Eat|See|Hear's really, really, ridiculously good-looking showing of Zoolander at Santa Monica High School.

If you'd rather stargaze sans a movie, head to the Griffith Observatory for this month's Public Star Party. Admire the moon and constellations—marine layer permitting—through the Observatory's 12-inch telescope or one of the hundreds of other savvy star enthusiasts' personal scopes; we're sure they'd be happy to share if you ask nicely.

Sunday

Take a Sunday morning stroll through five acres of 20th century furniture and housewares at Downtown Modernism. Held outside the Modernica Factory, this furniture-focused market is your best (and cheapest) chance to stock up on mid-century patio pieces and living room sets.

Make your way into the Arroyo as CicLAvia rides into Pasadena today. The car-free, bike-friendly fest is taking over 3.5 miles of Pasadena streets with performances, vendors and all sorts of general whimsy. Brush up on our favorite things to see and do along the route, and make sure to stop by the Colorado Hub (outside of Pasadena City College) to grab one of our discount-filled spoke cards—you know, only if you want $1 beers from the Dog Haus.

Fill that purse-sized hole in your heart with a pilgrimage to the Clare V. Sample Sale. Expect to walk away from the blowout sale with a chic handbag or French-inscribed clutch in hand.

Wrap up your weekend just a few minutes south at the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens, which is hosting the annual Taste of the Eastside. Wash down bites from Eastside staples like L&E Oyster Bar, Malo and Little Dom's with flights from Silver Lake Wine and the Greyhound Bar & Grill
