Friday

Skip out on work a bit early on Friday as Angel City Brewery throws its (No) Snow Day. The Arts District brewery will be filled with falling snow projections and a faux fireplace, plus a selection of food trucks, beer specials and a screening of Gremlins at 4pm.

Afterward, make your way to the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum for It's the Pits!, an after-hours, science-themed evening filled with pop-up performances throughout the tar pits and museum spaces. Though advance reservations to the free event are sold out, a limited number will be available at the door.

Up for an hour-and-a-half drive to Banning? Then bump and tilt your way to pinball wizardry at the opening night of the Arcade Expo. This three-day tournament and expo at the Museum of Pinball includes free play on 800 modern and retro arcade cabinets and pinball machines.

Saturday

Peruse more than 100 curated pop-ups alongside live music, food trucks and plenty of free parking at the premiere of the Artsy Flea. From the same people behind the Odd Nights and Odd Market series, the market is set to take place every Saturday at the Van de Kamp Bakery Building in Glassell Park.

The truth is still out there and comedian Kumail Nanjiani is set to get to the bottom of it during the X-Files Files: Live Podcast and Marathon. Nanjiani is taking his X-Files-obsessed podcast to the Cinefamily, complete with a six-episode marathon, surprise cast and crew appearances and a sneak peek of the new season. Though pre-registered slots are sold out, the event will have rolling admission if space frees up.

Speaking of '90s things: It's morphin' time! Head to Alhambra's Gallery Nucleus for the Power Rangers Official Tribute Exhibition. The gallery will be curating a show of tribute artwork and rarely seen production art from the original TV show alongside a new comic release. Head to the opening reception tonight for artist signings and the chance to see costumed Rangers in person.

Sunday

Make your way to LACMA for the closing weekend of New Objectivity. This wonderfully creepy exhibition examines modern German art in the years between WWI and WWII with works from Max Beckmann, Otto Dix, George Grosz, August Sander and more. Today only, composer and pianist Michael Mortilla will perform a live, improvised accompaniment to the four silent films being screened in the exhibition.

Bone up on things that poke, vibrate and arouse at the Sexual Health Expo. This two-day convention at the Hilton Universal City is more than just toys, though; you'll find presentations about intimacy and relationships, too.

Monday

With plenty of snow on the mountains, it's finally starting to feel like winter—just as the remaining outdoor ice skating rinks are closing. Take a few final laps at either Downtown on Ice or ICE at Santa Monica before they close up shop for the season.

Explore a walk-in tomb recreation and more than 20 mummies and coffins during the final day of Mummies: New Secrets from the Tombs. The Natural History Museum exhibition features specimens from Pre-Dynastic Egypt to Pre-Incan Peru, spruced up with a bit of modern magic thanks to interactive CT scans and 3-D reconstructions.

Hungry? Take advantage of prix-fixe meals around the city during the first day of dineLA Restaurant Week. If you're into a multi-course meal for around $39, make sure to check out our recommendations for dineLA.

Wrap up the long weekend at the Virgil for its Monday night staple Hot Tub with Kurt and Kristen. In addition to the always hilarious duo of Kristen Schaal and Kurt Braunohler, tonight's installment of the oddball variety show features Beth Stelling, one of our LA comedians to watch in 2016.
