You'd be hard pressed to find a better marriage than the one between mac and cheese. In fact, the editors here at Time Out Los Angeles love it so much, we decided to throw an entire event dedicated to the ultimate comfort food. LA's very first Mac and Cheese Smackdown is happening on Sunday, December 6, at LA River Studios, and you're invited to revel in all its cheesy glory.
For two hours (sessions are available from noon-2pm and 2:30-4:30pm), attendees will be able to sample plates of mac and cheese from some of LA's best restaurants: Horse Thief BBQ, Mac-o-licious, Lemonade, Nick & Stef's Steakhouse, The Hudson, POP Champagne & Dessert Bar, The Churchill and more. After working your way through each mouthwatering dish, you'll be able to vote on the one that brings you closest to mac and cheese nirvana. Oh yes, and there will be alcohol to wash down all that dairy.
Tickets to this inaugural event can be found here, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Best Friends Animal Society. You're basically eating mac and cheese for a good cause, which sounds like the best day ever.
