Plan Check has made some pretty cute moves in the past—Hello Kitty bento boxes, a Gudetama-inspired menu—but starting today, you can score quite possibly their cutest dishes yet. The burger joint has teamed up with Sanrio once again to feature Pompompurin and Chococat in celebration of the characters' 20th anniversaries. And what better way to celebrate than by eating both little creatures for lunch?
A little background: Pompompurin is a golden retriever who wears an adorable brown beret. He likes napping and collecting shoes; he apparently also loves his mama's cream caramel pudding. Chococat is a wide-eyed feline with droopy whiskers who tends to be a little spastic. Think of them as a modern take on Milo & Otis.
Today through July 10, diners can stop by any Plan Check location (Downtown, Sawtelle, Fairfax) for a multi-course Plan Check x Pompompurin x Chococat prix-fixed menu, set at $39 and including a limited edition hat. The menu is a complete, Sanrio-approved meal: mac and cheese, togarashi potato chips, a Pompompurin grilled sausage sandwich, a Chococat cookie served with vanilla ice cream, and a vanilla cream soda topped with whipped cream—with a little Pompompurin cocoa stencil to up the awww-factor. It's a hefty lunch or dinner, but one that also supports a good cause: in honor of Pet Appreciation Week, a portion of the meal's proceeds will be donated to L.A. Love & Leashes, an animal adoption center.
