What’s the best thing since sliced bread? If you’re a Guardians of the Galaxy fan it just might be Disneyland’s new bread loaves, baked in the shape of the beloved character Groot from the sci-fi franchise.
The adorable Groot bread was released to coincide with both the recent opening of Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: BREAKOUT ride, which took the place of the Tower of Terror after it closed last year, as well as the second film in the series, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, hitting theaters in May.
According to Buzzfeed, the bread is available as a classic sourdough loaf or a jalapeno-cheddar flavored version. The classic sourdough can be purchased at a concession stand in the Fairfax Market, while the jalapeno-cheddar version is exclusive to the Cosmic Canteen, both located at the Disney California Adventure Park.
Several other limited-edition snacks will also be available to tie-in with the new Guardians attraction, including a "Groot Sipper" and what a Disney press release names "the Most Dangerous Tacos in the Galaxy," barbacoa beef or veggie tacos that come wrapped in an alarmingly-neon green taco shell.
Disney die-hards, always quick to jump on any fun new snack that the park can think up, have already taken to Instagram to post snaps of themselves with the cute carbs. It looks like holding a Groot bread in front of your face might just give the Museum of Ice Cream a run for its money as the signature L.A. photo-op of the summer.
