Was WonderCon's temporary move to Downtown Los Angeles a tryout for future plans (maybe even for Comic-Con)? Or was it really just the result of a scheduling conflict at its usual home in Anaheim? Either way, we're sad to see it return to Orange County after this year's impressive expo.

Thousands of comic book, video game, TV and movie fans descended on the Los Angeles Convention Center for three days of panels, signings and pop-up shops. Slightly less corporate than its sister convention Comic-Con, WonderCon feels unabashedly nerdy. While it can't compete with the San Diego expo's star-studded panels, we much prefer WonderCon's more diverse show floor, stocked with artist signings, limited edition merch, vintage collectibles and off-brand light sabers.

Much like the Anime Expo, the airy atrium at the LA Convention Center becomes a hub of cosplay photo ops. Here are some of the best costumes we spotted.
