What do Harry Potter and roller skates have to do with each other?

Nimbus 2000? Firebolt? Magical broomsticks are so out of style. Roller skates, though, that's the real way to fly—that's levi-OH-sa not levio-SAH.

At least, that's how we imagine the annual Harry Potter Roller Skating Night came together. Lace up your Muggle skates for a few laps around the distinctly not-Quidditch pitch on Saturday night at Glendale's Moonlight Rollerway. Expect a to hear a lot of that John Williams score while you partake in costume contests, games, wizard rock—wizard rock!—and frothy, non-alcoholic Butterbeer.

You can thank the Boy Who Lived enthusiasts at the Los Angeles Dumbledore's Army for organizing the public, all-ages meet-up. Almost 1,500 people have RSVP'd on Facebook, so be aware that things could get as crowded as a compartment on the Hogwarts Express. Admission for the event (8-11pm) is $11.50, plus $3 for skates. If you're interested in only spectating, you can grab a ticket for $6.50.

Might we suggest hitting up Whimsic Alley first for any last-minute costume needs. While you're at the skating night, tag your photos with @losangelesdumbledoresarmy and #hpskatenight to win a Ron Weasley figurine in the "Owlgram" contest. Bloody hell!
