In addition to bringing us a theme park, a concert hall and... a dating app, Walt Disney has blessed more than just the LA area in recent years with a strong lineup of animated films—be honest: you still hum along and feel a twinge of inspiration every time you hear "Let it Go."
In anticipation of the studio's latest feature, Zootopia—a comedic romp starring a law-enforcing rabbit and a wily fox—the El Capitan theater is building hype with a seven-film festival.
The series kicks off on February 18 with an arcade-themed hero's journey, Wreck-it Ralph, followed on consecutive days by Frozen, Tangled, Big Hero 6, Bolt and Winnie the Pooh. Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen will close out the special lineup on February 24 during a screening of The Princess and the Frog. Zootopia will hit the El Capitan when it opens in wide release on March 4.
All the films screen at 10am as well as 1pm, 4pm and 7pm. The final 7pm screenings will include special presentations with the filmmakers.
A $10 general admission ticket also comes with a small popcorn and fountain drink. Otherwise, $20 VIP tickets buy you preferred, reserved seating and a VIP-sized (we're assuming that means larger) popcorn and drink. The theater is also offering special group rates for parties of 20 or more (call 1-818-845-3110 for more details). If you know in advance that you want to see more than one film, there are VIP bundles for four tickets, and—for the extra ambitious—all seven 7pm showtimes.
Tickets for all screenings are available in person at the theater, by calling 1-800-DISNEY6, or on the theater's website.
And if you have yet to watch the trailer for Zootopia, you should—it's really cute:
