Imagine starting your day with a restorative yoga session, wild dance party and a wagon full of kittens. It might sound like a Lisa Frank-illustrated fever dream, but it’s actually real. Daybreaker, the globe-trotting party people who specialize in sunrise events, are throwing a colorful, furry-friend loving session on Wednesday morning—and it totally beats our typical morning plans of snooze-buttons and traffic jams.
In honor of National Adopt a Cat Month, Daybreaker is collaborating with a local non-profit, Michelson Found Animals. Michelson will roll up the "Catty Wagon," (get it?) full of the cutest kitten party guests you can imagine. If after dancing and playing together, you should find you’ve met your true feline love, all the kittens will be available for adoptions.
Even if you’re a die-hard dog lover with no interest in fluffy kittens, the rest of the party is still likely to impress. It opens at 5:30am with a yoga class. At 6:30am, the tempo picks up as DJ Just Beth spins tunes for a full-on dance party that runs until 8:30am. In between you’ll be able to grab juice, coffee and healthy breakfast bites (while we enjoy a morning Bloody Mary or mimosa as much as anybody, Daybreaker is a booze-free affair). Oh, and in honor of the animal theme, they’re encouraging guests to come dressed up as a favorite creature.
After all that, you’ll lint-roll off the kitten fur and head into work pumping the endorphins, which sounds like a great way to kick off Hump Day to us.
Daybreaker takes place June 14 at 5:30am at Wurstküche Venice. Tickets are available online for $25 for dance party admission only or $35 with yoga class.
