Friday

Passing through Union Station during rush hour? Immerse yourself in Music for Train Stations, an ambient performance series in the train depot's grand waiting room. Today's free show includes a DJ set by Victoria O’Halon with a live performance by the genre-hopping Mark Van Hoen.

Take the Metro to the LA Convention Center for the first day of WonderCon. The fan expo from the same people behind Comic-Con is in LA for the first time, with three days full of sneak peeks, Q&As, premiere screenings and special guests; today's highlights include sneak peeks of Voltron and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as well as panels on Star Wars and Star Trek.

If you can head a few blocks over before 5pm, scope out the Cat Art Show at Think Tank Gallery. You know how much you love looking at cats on the interwebs—this is just a classier affair, with artists and pop culture figures like Mark Ryden, Norman Reedus, Marion Peck, Simon Tofield and more.

Just up the street, Joanna Newsom takes her latest opus, Divers, to the Orpheum Theatre. Expect an evening of artfully swooping vocals, deft harp skills, world-building lyrics and meticulous, knotty arrangements.

Saturday

Put those lazy, long-haired stoner stereotypes to rest on Saturday morning at the 420 Games. The pro-legalization and all-pot-everything festival kicks off with a 4.20-mile fun run at the Santa Monica Pier.

Feed that sudden case of the munchies with a stop at Chips, Crisps & Wafers. Echo Park gallery iam8bit is bringing together an edible, international conference of potato chips with more than 50 flavors from countries such as Japan, Scotland, Australia, Singapore and India.

Just around the corner, Machine Project is presenting a different type of salty event with Sesión Continua: A Porn Theater in Echo Park. For a full 24 hours, the space will be screening vintage gay and lesbian erotica in its Mystery Theater in sesión continua style—that means no schedules or set start times.

Keep your evening filthy with a visit to the Hump! Film Festival Tour. The Dan Savage-curated touring show invites amateurs to make and submit their own short porn flicks. Eighteen of these five-minute movies will screen at the Downtown Independent, showing off a wide range of sexual interests and takes on the erotic genre.

Sunday

Stretch out those hamstrings: today is one of your last chances to hike Runyon Canyon before it closes until July. The popular see-and-be-seen trail goes down for utility work on April 1, so Sunday is the last weekend at Runyon for a while—time to find another hike.

Today also happens to be Easter Sunday, so get your Easter egg hunt and brunch on. Speaking of, how better to celebrate Easter—and "wabbit season" in general—than with an entire morning of Bugs Bunny Cartoon Classics? Stock up on some free Easter candy, then sit back and enjoy a handpicked collection of classic cartoon shorts at the Aero Theatre.

Close out your weekend at the Ahmanson Theatre for a performance of A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder. The very British musical murder comedy has just arrived at the Downtown theater for a month-long run. How can you pass up a play where one actor plays eight characters?
