We curate an L.A. weekend itinerary of the city's best concerts, culture and cuisine, every week, just for you.

Friday

If you can get out of work a little bit early, watch competitive eaters gobble up as many donuts as they can in eight minutes during the World Donut Eating Championship at Santa Monica Place, a veteran services fundraiser through the Salvation Army.

Otherwise, celebrate the PMCA’s 15th birthday with an extended Free First Friday. Add on to the Pasadena Museum of California Art birthday mural, listen to talks and DJ sets, and enjoy sweet treats and libations.

Make your way to LACMA for another installment of the summertime tradition Jazz at LACMA. Take a seat in the museum's welcoming entrance plaza for a free performance from guitarist Jacques Lesure.

Saturday

Immerse yourself in art performances, a skycraper-scaling harp performance and DJ sets at the inaugural i3 Arts Fest. The free art event is taking over Grand Park and California Plaza and culminates in the Burning Man-esque Art Car Ball in Pershing Square later this evening.

Stock up on local handmade goods as Odd Nights at the Santa Monica Pier arrives by the ocean with more than 70 pop-up vendors.

Take advantage of free tunes and party vibes at the kickoff weekend of KCRW Summer Nights, with sets at One Colorado from Chico Mann & Captain Planet and DJ Marion Hodges.

Alternatively, catch a set from Ryan Adams at the Greek Theatre. The prolific North Carolinian plays in support of Prisoners, a heartbroken, ’80s-inflected record that ranks among Adams’s most memorable and vulnerable.

Sunday

Slip into a carb coma at the Los Angeles Bread Festival, an event at Grand Central Market filled with unabashed bread guzzling, specialty loaves, workshops, demos and Feel the Churn Butter Aerobics.

Pick up secondhand goods under $40 during the inaugural Comedy Yard Sale at UCB Sunset. All proceeds will benefit the ACLU, including from off-site auctions with comedy memorabilia like Aziz Ansari's Parks and Rec Snakehole Lounge and Sarah Silverman's Crank Yankers puppet.

Get creeped out during the opening weekend of American Horror Story: The Style of Scare. The Paley Center presents a visually stunning assortment of costumes, set pieces and props from every season of the chilling anthology series.

Celebrate the creativity, history and ethnic diversity of Northeast Los Angeles at the Lummis Day Festival, an annual music, dance and art fest. The three-day event concludes today with a music, dance and theater pop-up at Sycamore Grove Park.
