This past April, LA restaurant darling Baroo announced a brief, month-long closure. Despite reassuring us that they'd be back in June, many people worried the tiny, two-person operation would be gone longer—or worse, never re-open at all. It was a justified concern. The Hollywood eatery had experienced a swift surge in popularity, press and accolades within the first few months of opening, and owners Kwang Uh and Matthew Kim—again, the only two people working at the restaurant—were working around the clock to keep it operating.

It looks like a quick vacation helped to recharge the two—per the restaurant's website, Baroo will be re-opening tomorrow, June 14, for more experimental fusion food heavy on fermentation. Starting at noon, diners can stop by for bowls of pickled vegetables, handmade pasta, vibrant salads and their signature homemade kombucha.

So what have they been up to in the meantime? Judging by their Instagram, they've been traveling through Korea, drawing inspiration from food and nature alike. In an email chef Uh wrote to us back in April, he said that the purpose of the hiatus was to "empty, recharge, refresh, have insight, meditate, and [become] inspired again for a better us and Baroo." It's hard to imagine Baroo being even better than its original iteration, but we'll have to do some research (read: eat our way through the menu) and get back to you.

Baroo is located at 5706 Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood. Will you be checking out the new Baroo tomorrow?
