As much as Angelenos love their city, they're just as much into escaping it—or, at least, feeling like they're escaping it. How else could you explain the explosion in popularity of Coachella and the mere existence of summer camps for adults?
A bit closer to home, Mercado Sagrado held a two-day market for the all-organic-everything crowd. Patrons were shuttled to a private oak grove in the Santa Monica Mountains this past weekend to discover the wonders of linen clothes, essence readings and aura photography. One of our editors summed it up this way: "I ordered a smoothie and they asked me what I was grateful for so they could write it on my cup." Whether that sounds like an incense-filled Shangri-La or your own personal nightmare, you can't deny that these photos of the serene space are stunning.
