The Coachella set times are here! Kudos to Goldenvoice for putting together what, overall, is a pretty well-arranged schedule. The heart-breaking conflicts are few and far between, which is great news for us. We actually had to search the set list for inconveniences (a few do exist), and have worked through them here so you don't have to.
1. Early Friday arrival is a must, and it's gonna be hectic. For old schoolers and rockabillies, Reverend Horton Heat starts at 1:30p, followed closely by Cloud Nothings at 1:55p. There might not be a ton of overlap between these crowds, but we, for the record, will try to make it to both. Then Allah-Las goes on at 2:10p, and Action Bronson directly after at 2:30p. It's essentially shoving almost every festival genre into one hour of running around right off the bat, which seems like a decent—if tiring—way to kick off the fest.
2. On Friday night, Caribou (8:40p), Tame Impala (9:15p) and Todd Terje (9:20p) all overlap just a bit, meaning that if you want to see each badly enough (and we like the progression of dance-iness), you can make it happen. We will!
3. Saturday night's a little tricky, with headliner Jack White playing against some other pretty tempting acts, including Tyler the Creator (both at 9:15p), FKA Twigs (9:35p) and Tycho (9:30p). We'll probably keep it to Twigs and Jack, though going between the two will take us past Tyler, which seems like a nicely planned consolation.
4. On Sunday eve, festival-goers will have to choose between St. Vincent and Stromae, both playing at 8p. This is probably one of the toughest conflicts, as we're pretty sure their audiences, at least at Coachella, will be one in the same. If you're looking to go dark and weird, head to Vincent, who'll be a great intro to Florence + the Machine at 8:50p. For a more gaily spent evening, stick with Stromae and then take your time getting to LA's own Fitz & the Tantrums, who go on at 9:20p.
