Fans of Japanese film director, animator, artist and all-around genius Hayao Miyazaki will have reason to celebrate as the famed Studio Ghibli opens an official pop-up shop next month at JapanLA, a one-stop shop in West Hollywood for anime fans. Announced just last night, thousands have already shown interest and saved the Facebook event, while hundreds have already RSVPed. This will be the first event ever of its kind in the U.S., and the excitement of fans builds a strong case for a Ghibli Museum of our own. (We can dream!)

Even if you're not usually into waiting in lines, there will be plenty of special items straight from Japan that you will probably only be able to snag on opening day, so we suggest sucking it up and queuing up. The limited edition goodies exclusively available at JapanLA will include a JapanLA x My Neighbor Totoro Jacket. Additionally, there will be a free Totoro photo booth from 12-4pm, and everyone who purchases at least $30 worth of merchandise will get a free exclusive Totoro pin while supplies last. Wear your comfiest shoes and bring your most patient friends.

The opening party is on Saturday, June 24 from 11am-5pm. The pop-up shop itself will stay open until July 24.
