If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then New York should be incredibly flattered right now. First we adopted Shake Shack, and now we're gearing up for yet another NY-import: Smorgasburg. The Brooklyn food market, which showcases around 100 local and regional vendors on weekends, is arriving in Los Angeles on June 19, landing at the Alameda farmers' market in Downtown LA. The first round of vendors was just announced, and let's just say your Sundays are getting a serious upgrade in the near future.
Guerrilla Tacos, Sticky Rice, Pizzanista! and Donut Friend, along with Hollywood farmers' market favorite Porridge & Puffs, are some of the more recognizable names on the list, along with Little Spoon Frozen Pudding, Belly & Snout, Greenspan's Grilled Cheese and Ramen Burger. The full list of vendors is still in the works, but here is who's signed on so far:
Art of Tea
Belly & Snout
Big Mozz
Bombay Sandwich Co.

Burritos La Palma
Carnitas Y Birria El Momo

Unlike the Brooklyn iteration, which only occurs in the summer, Smorgasburg LA will be open every Sunday due to our perpetually perfect weather. Shopping vendors, special events and pop-ups will all be part of the experience—a literal one-stop-shop in DTLA. So...is it summer yet?
