We scream, you scream... there's no shortage of awesome ice cream shops in Los Angeles, but we certainly won't turn down another. Especially one from Smitten, the SF-born creamery known for its house-made, churned-to-order scoops and organic, locally-sourced ingredients.
Smitten's new Sliver Lake location (they're already scooping in El Segundo) will be its L.A. flagship, housed in an abandoned mid-century car repair shop on Sunset Boulevard. Designed by Flint, the boutique creative studio behind Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, the shop will feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows, communal tables and an open kitchen. Outside is a pergola-shaded concrete-and-grass-latticed terrace, as well as a private parking lot that will be used for special events.

The shop will scoop signature flavors including classics like fresh mint chip and more innovative offerings like cookie dough with pretzels and and chocolate chips and Earl Grey with milk chocolate chips. The menu will also feature one rotating, chef-inspired seasonal special, such as strawberry white balsamic, crème fraîche with pear caramel or blood orange with pistachio cookies. Want more? Smitten will have pastry-chef created toppings and a decadent sundae bar, too.
Smitten will open at 3100 Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake in mid-to-late summer 2017.
