Whiskey aficionados—and those who are aspiring to be—know all about Bar Jackalope, the specialized whiskey bar within Downtown's Seven Grand. It's a beauty of a space, and a great spot to sample rare or unique liquors from amicable bartenders ready to teach. The one downside? It's closed on Fridays and Saturdays. Those whiskey tears are real.
That's why we were elated to hear about Seven Grand's new Friday Night Flights, an option for those who love Bar Jackalope's whiskey offerings but want the good stuff on a Friday. Each week, from 6 to 9pm, imbibers will receive a flight of expertly curated whiskeys for a single entry fee—plus, the night will always start with an old-fashioned.
While the inaugural tasting featured ryes, this week's Friday Night Flight is all about Japanese whiskey. Hosted by spirit guide Pedro Shanahan, bottles will include Hibiki 17, Yamazaki 18, Yoichi 15 and Nikka Coffey Malt. Priced at $50 for tastings of each plus an old-fashioned, it's a great deal for those who are looking to expand their whiskey repertoire. RSVP here for a solid way to end the week.
