Tsujita, one of the most acclaimed purveyors of Japanese noodles around these parts, is set to open their newest location tonight in the Americana shopping mall in Glendale. To celebrate, they’re offering free ramen or tsukemen starting at 6pm.
To score your free bowl, hit the ‘like’ button on the restaurant’s Facebook page or follow them on Instagram, according to instructions on their grand opening event invite. Then drop by to claim your noodle goodness.
If you can’t be there to queue up tonight, don’t worry. They’re so excited about this grand opening that the freebie deal will extend until 11pm on Friday, December 2. That gives you three nights and two days to get your ramen fix.
At Tsujita’s original Sawtelle location and its nearby Annex, the crowds pack in daily, particularly for the famed tsukemen, a two-part dish consisting of a bowl of bare noodles and a separate bowl filled with thick pork-bone broth and fat, known for its sweet-tart flavor. You dip the noodles into the broth bowl to your heart’s porky content.
They also serve the classic ramen, a tonkotsu soup simmered for 60 hours in a style that Tsujita’s chefs picked up at one of Tokyo’s most famous ramen houses. It’s worth noting, this might not be the time to bring your vegan friend along, they’re not going to find too much on the menu that they can eat whenever you do make it to the front of that inevitable line.
The Tsujita Artisan Noodle opens at 6pm on Nov 30, after which normal hours will be 11am to 11pm. The restaurant is located at 889 Americana Way in Glendale.
