Whether you're a fan of Ricky's Fish Tacos or a skeptic who believes that better Ensenada-style tacos can be found elsewhere, there's no denying that visiting the fish taco stand on Virgil Avenue is a rite of passage for most Angelenos. The popular open-air eatery first launched in 2009, and has been dishing out fish and shrimp tacos (and killer horchata) to the masses from a sleek truck parked at 1400 N Virgil, while diners scarf down their meal on fold-up tables and chairs. But over the weekend, owner Ricky Piña posted that his parking lot days were coming to a close:

Sunday was Ricky's final day of service at his regular spot; going forward, fans will have to revert back to checking his Twitter for current and upcoming locations. He'll most likely stay in the area for the time being, though: since January of this year, Piña has been taking the truck out for dinner, stopping near 1st and Beaudry. He's also hoping to park his truck outside of the Goodwill on Hollywood Boulevard for a bit.

It seems like Piña is leaving under his own volition; according to Eater, he felt it was simply time to move on. Permanent spot or not, we know we'll be following Ricky's wherever the truck goes. Those fish tacos are worth braving rush hour traffic for.

Will you still stop by Ricky's Fish Tacos once it moves? Let us know in the comments below!
