Well look at you, Staples Center, taking your concessions up a notch.
The LA Lakers are playing the Phoenix Suns at 7:30 tonight, and while a mid-game meal might normally consist of mediocre nachos from the concession stand, there's a new player in the food game: B.S. Taqueria. The second iteration of chef Ray Garcia's popular Mexican eatery opened inside the arena today (the original location is also Downtown, while his more formal Broken Spanish is a block away from L.A. Live).
Almost 4 million people pass through Staples Center each year, so the menu here has been pared down to accommodate such massive crowds. There are currently three tacos available—carnitas, carne asada and pollo—along with sides that include heirloom corn tortilla chips, guacamole and salsa. The churros—which made our best desserts list in 2015—are also on the menu, paired with a sugar and chile chocolate sauce. You can wash it all down with palomas, margaritas, blackcurrant lemonade and mint cactus, all on draft.
"As an LA Native, opening a B.S. Taqueria at Staples Center is like a childhood dream come true," Garcia says. "I am excited about the partnership and look forward to bringing our food to the millions of hungry fans who visit the arena every year."
You can find the B.S. Taqueria concession stand on the Main Concourse near section 117.
