Of all the free summer concerts in the city, KCRW and the Annenberg Foundation consistently surpass our expectations with Sound in Focus—and this year's Century City series is no exception.
Sound in Focus will once again bring together the public radio station with the Annenberg Space for Photography for three free shows from Miguel, Paul Oakenfold and Rodrigo y Gabriela on Saturday evenings in July.
As the tunes take over the Century Park lawn, the adjacent free museum will keep its doors open late, until 11pm, so you can visit the stellar "Generation Wealth by Lauren Greenfield" exhibition.
Here's the full schedule below, which is part of the larger KCRW Summer Nights series:
July 15: Miguel with Gabriel Garzón-Montano and Stretch Armstrong, plus KCRW's Anthony Valadez
July 22: Paul Oakenfold with Mondo Cozmo and Lo Moon, plus KCRW's Jason Bentley
July 29: Rodrigo y Gabriela with Natalia Lafourcade, plus KCRW's José Galván
Though the concerts are free, you're required to RSVP for each (each RSVP allows for up to two guests). However, that doesn't guarantee entry; you'll need to show up early (lines begin at 3pm, doors at 5pm) to secure a spot. Flat rate parking is available for only $1 (cash only), and you're welcome to bring your own food, blankets and sealed water bottles (there's a gathering of food trucks and a beer garden once inside). You can find out more information about the series, including ticket links and arrival info, on the Sound in Focus website.
