Get your pro-LA, anti-NY insults ready: After their third straight year atop the National League West, the Los Angeles Dodgers are set to face the New York Mets in the National League Division Series on October 9.
We could take the low road and poke fun at the fact that the Mets play in the middle of a junk yard. Or we could let the numbers speak for themselves and compare the Dodgers' six World Series championships to the Mets’ two not-so-amazin’ titles.
Instead, we’ll let Metro do all of the talking. The LA transit agency started the trash talk early during this amazing exchange with New York’s MTA over Twitter.
Hey @MTA please tidy up the 7 train, @Dodgers blue is coming to town. #lolmets @Mets

Don’t worry, @MetroLosAngeles – we sweep our subway just like the @Mets will sweep the @Dodgers

A friendly wager, @MTA? Perhaps your famous New York pizza. #Dodgers #LolMets pic.twitter.com/5g1vpMBuZF

.@metrolosangeles Happy to wager on who wins the series. Care to wager on who gets more fans to the ballpark?

You got us on the numbers, @MTA. Assuming your riders remember how transit works. pic.twitter.com/rpYc9JjGNZ

You know, Metro, normally we’d complain about how frustrating it is that you have to take a bus from Union Station to get to the stadium even though the Chinatown stop is so close to Chavez Ravine—but we’ll let it slide this time. We commend you on your trash talk, and hey, if you need some more fodder, here are 31 reasons LA kicks NY’s ass.
