And they're landing in the Arts District, of course.

MAST Brothers—the über-cool gourmet chocolate company from Brooklyn—first showed up in Los Angeles as a 10-week pop-up in December, during the Site Specific LA exhibition. But that was just a preview: next month, the chocolate shop will open its first West Coast factory and store Downtown, where visitors will be able to see chocolate bars being made from start to finish in a 6,000-square-foot warehouse. The transparency is a smart move on the part of owners Rick and Michael Mast, who have faced serious scrutiny in the past over whether their chocolate is truly "bean-to-bar" (meaning the chocolate maker is involved in every step of the chocolate making process).

While an opening date hasn't been nailed down yet, doors will open sometime in April—perfect for National Chocolate-covered Cashew Day (Yup, it's a thing. Mark your calendars for April 21.). You can expect some new California-centric flavors, along with some of their classics, like milk chocolate, dark chocolate, olive oil chocolate and more. Just be prepared to fork over some serious dough—each bar costs around $10.

MAST Brothers will be opening at 816 S Santa Fe—will you be checking out their new factory? Let us know in the comments below.
