Stand-up queen Maria Bamford will be performing a huge show (a taping for her next Netflix special) at the Novo tomorrow night, but if you can sneak out of work this afternoon you’ve got a chance to see her do an intimate warm-up set for free. She’ll even give you some ice cream, apparently.

The comedian announced on her Twitter that she’ll be doing the rehearsal show at 4pm today at Los Feliz’s Clubhouse, a scrappy DIY comedy venue in a strip mall. Given the very small size of the space, you might want to show up early if you’re feeling committed to getting in.

Bamford is something of a comedy darling, particularly around L.A.’s scene. Netflix had a hit earlier this year with Lady Dynamite, a series starring her and based on her life. Many fans will recognize her from her role on Arrested Development. No less than Stephen Colbert has declared that she is his, “favorite comedian on planet Earth.”

If you’re not able to make it to the free show today, tickets for the gig at the Novo are still available online, running $26 to $36. We can’t promise there will be ice cream, though.

The Novo event is presented by Riot L.A., the annual Goldenvoice-backed comedy festival that Bamford headlined in 2016. That festival returns to local stages in late January, with another roster that highlights female comedians, including Bamford’s fellow Nextflix star, Ali Wong.

Maria Bamford’s surprise set takes place at 4pm at Clubhouse, 1607 North Vermont Avenue. Admission is free.
