Though the swanky InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown isn't set to open until this summer, the exterior of the Wilshire Grand has been effectively finished for months now. That is, except for one distinct new element: the color-changing LED lights on the building.

The 73-story Downtown skyscraper—the new tallest building on the West Coast—has been testing various patterns of lights in its rooftop sail structure as well as along its glassy spine over the past month, according to Urbanize LA.

Its bright, clean lines of color look impressive in still photos, but—like a cheerier version of Blade Runner—its pulsating sequences and color changes look absolutely surreal in motion.

You should be able to regularly spot its display this week as part of a 2024 Olympics bid initiative. According to the L.A. Times, the Wilshire Grand will welcome a delegation from the International Olympic Committee by lighting up in the colors of an L.A. sunset from Tuesday to Thursday evening. It'll join other local landmarks lighting up for the bid initiative like the Griffith Observatory, Walt Disney Concert Hall, U.S. Bank Tower, Grand Park fountain, LACMA, Santa Monica Pier Ferris wheel, LAX and Greek Theatre.
