Los Angeles is full of alternative variety shows, from off-kilter comedy to slinky burlesque acts, but one show in particular is staging an opulent return of an old artform: drag.

Le Bal is taking over the Theatre at Ace Hotel on March 4 for an over-the-top celebration of drag. The show is surveying more than 60 years of the edgy artform with a variety of performances, from cabaret to contemporary drag.

Queens including Coco Peru, Raja, Detox, Delta Work and Trixie Mattel will take to the extravagant Downtown stage in order to introduce a new audience to the historic form of counterculture entertainment. It's the second time the show has hit the Ace Hotel; its inaugural outing took place last October.
