So you have a favorite coffee shop—they know your name and regular order, you have a dedicated table, the whole nine yards. Change is good, though, and checking out a different coffee shop might be just enough to shake up your weekend routine. Three new options for scoring a cup of java popped up recently—why not give them a shot?
1. Cafecito (El Sereno): Not to be confused with Cafecito Organico, this charming new addition to the El Sereno neighborhood serves cafecito de la olla, espresso con panna, affogato and more traditional cups of coffee. The snack game here is strong, too: empanadas, churros con cajeta and tacos, to name a few. 4727 Huntington Dr, El Sereno
2. The Black Bicycle Cafe (West Hollywood): "Hello." states one of the walls in simple black lettering at the Black Bicycle Cafe, a small coffee shop that recently opened in WeHo. It's enough to make you belt out an Adele song, but might we suggest warming your pipes with one of the cafe's strong cups of coffee or a matcha tea? Show up in the morning and you'll be able to choose from fresh pastries as well as creamy parfaits and avocado toast. 1501 N Havenhurst Dr, West Hollywood
3. Twenty40 (Los Feliz): While the new eastside coffee shop is still in its soft opening phase, you can snag espressos, cortados, flat whites and more from 8am-2pm daily, in addition to hot chocolate, granola with yogurt, pastries and pressed juice. The coffee beans come from 49th Parallel, a Vancouver-based roaster. Thankfully we don't need to head up north for a sip. 2040 Hillhurst Ave, Los Feliz
