Get ready for a hot week out there, LA! It’s time to grab a bikini and some ice-cold rosé because yet another summer heatwave has settled in for a run and it won’t be letting up for at least several days this time.
The National Weather Service expects this current wave to keep baking us at least through Wednesday, then drop very slightly, and remain just-shy-of-blazing through the weekend, as CBS LA reports.
If you’re planning on spending the next few days in the Antelope, Santa Clarita or San Fernando valleys, you might want to get your air conditioner checked because you can expect consistent triple-digit temperatures until this wave passes.
While a few really hot days might seem fairly predictable at this point in August, keep in mind that along with the hot temperatures also comes a heightened risk of fires breaking out—and this has already been an extra destructive fire season. Keep an eye on any conditions or activities which could cause a spark.
The best thing to do, of course, is to try to keep cool and hydrate as much as possible. Maybe this would be a good week to check out a new museum exhibit, hit the beaches or gulp down a refreshing summer cocktail.
And, no matter how hot it gets, maybe just look around and take a moment to feel grateful that not only it is a dry heat, it’s also not a flying-cockroach heat. That thought alone should be enough to get you through, right?
