Consider the sundae: creamy spheres of finely churned dairy, swirls of caramel and chocolate and butterscotch, wispy mounds of ethereal whipped cream. Some might call it dessert; others, a work of art.
Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams certainly agrees with the latter. The Los Feliz ice cream shop is launching their new winter "collection" called American Licks: Ice Cream as a Living Artifact. Tomorrow at 8pm, Angelenos with a sweet tooth can stop by the store for a first taste of the new menu as the shop turns into a full-on museum, complete with audio tour, gift shop and poster gallery. Founder Jeni Britton Bauer will be there to launch the new line, and the first 50 guests to arrive will receive free, limited-edition American Licks swag.
The six new flavors include Black & White Cookies, Candied Ginger, Green Mint Chip, Luxardo Cherries Jubilee, Orange Sherbet and Pralines & Cream.
