It's been years in the making—three years, to be exact—but Firestone Walker Brewing's Propagator branch is finally opening in Venice this week, bringing the Paso Robles-based brewery to LA for the first time. The westside location, which is situated on the corner of Washington and Lincoln boulevards, will open for limited hours starting at 5pm on Thursday, April 7, before expanding with lunch service in May.
Along with a lounge and restaurant, the space includes a barrel cellar that serves as an experimental space. In fact, the Venice location aims to be Firestone Walker's chief R&D property; brewmaster Matt Brynildson has plans to play around with rustic ales (sunfiltered, barrel-conditioned, primarily farmhouse-style beers) as part of the first R&D beer program. At the restaurant, you'll be able to nosh on gastropub fare, and if it's anything like the Taproom in Paso Robles, we'll see the likes of fish tacos, burgers and pizzas. And, of course, the taps will be flowing with Firestone Walker favorites, like Union Jack IPA, 805, wild ales and more. Wines will also be on tap, but could you at least give up your seat for a beer drinker at the brewery?
Firestone Walker will open on Thursday, April 7 at 3205 Washington Boulevard in Venice. Opening hours are from 5pm-11pm.
