What's better than multi-tasking first thing in the morning? Quite possibly the only place in LA where you can have a tarot reading with your French toast is Thank You For Coming. It's an Atwater Village community art space that's also open for brunch every weekend and hosts a variety of events that combine art and food (a collage-making session called "Drinkollage," and a food-and-film series called "Watch What You Eat"). It also has its own CSA program (that's community supported art, not agriculture) that supports in-house experimental food and art collaborations. For a visionary brunch experience, bond with your neighbors over turmeric ginger rice porridge, a Turkish breakfast bowl, a vegan sandwich and yes, a tarot reading.
Or, if you're free tonight, there's a Friday Artist Edition event called Ghana Must Go, which shines a spotlight on Ghanaian textiles in the world market. There will be textiles including bags, shorts and dresses designed by Frau Fiber and produced in Ghana available for purchase.
