It's been a great season for discovering new coffee shops, and the Westside is about to have yet another java option—well, at least for three months. Espresso and Surfboards is popping up in Venice's Lone Wolfs Objects d'Surf, a surf shop filled with art history jokes and black-and-white gear. You'll find the new coffee station, which officially opens this Friday, in the back of the shop, where staff from Scapegoat coffee in Hermosa Beach will serve Portland-based Heart Coffee beans from a La Marzocco machine. If all goes well after 90 days, Espresso and Surfboards will be gunning to make Lone Wolfs a permanent home. Translation? You'll now be able to pick up a surfboard and a latte in one fell swoop. Righteous.
