Want to attend a big outdoor summer music festival while simultaneously raising visibility and funds for arts education programs? The 17th annual Eagle Rock Music Festival has you covered on both counts.

The free and family-friendly festival includes 40 musicians on multiple stages for more than six hours. Much of the diverse line-up is tied together by a theme of global and multi-cultural musical influences, with headliners including Dengue Fever, Jungle Fire and Boogaloo Assassins. A DJ area will be helmed by the likes of Phatrick of Short Stop’s Motown Mondays and Seano from Dublab.

Like any respectable festival these days, there will be a food vendor village to feed the crowds as the night goes on, featuring some of the neighborhood’s local favorites including Eagle Rock Kitchen, Tommy’s Burgers and Homeboy Industries, among others.

While admission is free, donations are being accepted in advance for those who wish to contribute—and donating comes with some pretty nice perks. A $10 donation entitles you to a fast-track entry pass and a download of an exclusive mix of music from festival artists. At the $20 level, you earn VIP status, which includes access to a special viewing area and a T-shirt. Your donation goes toward the Imagine Studio program run by the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock, which provides free arts education programs to underserved elementary and middle school students and their families across Northeast Los Angeles.

Eagle Rock Music Festival takes place August 20 from 4 to 10pm along Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock. Entry is free for general admission.
