Have you ever seen one of those super-popular, super-cute pet Instagram accounts and just kind of wondered, can that dog or cat actually be for real? Well, tonight’s your chance to see one of the biggest names in internet pet-dom, Doug the Pug, in the flesh—but if you’re hoping to get a glimpse, you might want to put down whatever you’re doing and get in line right now.

Doug the Pug is in town to promote his new book, Doug the Pug: the King of Pop Culture, but with an Instagram following of more than 2.2 million, he’s got a slightly bigger following than the average first-time author.

That following is expected to turn out in droves for his appearance at the Last Bookstore in DTLA. So much so that the store will be shutting down to the general public at 5pm and only allowing the first 300 Doug-lovers through the door when they re-open for the event. If you want your copy of the book ‘signed’ with a paw-print from the king himself, you’ll need to buy the book from Last Bookstore when you get in tonight and be issued a numbered wristband.

As you might expect, the event will be dog-friendly, but if you want to bring your own pop culture-loving pup along for a photo-op with Doug, be prepared to hold her in your arms (so maybe leave the mastiff at home, even though we’re sure she’s extremely cute, too).

Doug the Pug appears at the Last Bookstore tonight from 7 to 8:30pm, with a line forming at 5pm. Admission is free.
