You’ll have to go back to asking strangers to take a photo or testing the limits of your arm muscles, because Disneyland is banning selfie sticks.

Starting June 30, the ubiquitous smartphone poles won't make it past bag check; you'll either have to leave it with security or stow it back in your car, according to a report in the Orlando Sentinel. The same will be true in Disney parks around the world.

This past spring, Disneyland began putting up signage to discourage the use of selfie sticks on attractions—in the same way that you’re not supposed to whip out, say, a footlong sandwich or a trombone in the middle of Space Mountain. Just this past week, California Screamin' had to be temporarily closed because a guest pulled out a selfie stick mid-ride.

Sure, this means going back to the self portrait stone ages of two or three years ago, but if you’ve ever tried to watch World of Color over a sea of selfie sticks, this only comes as good news. Seriously, just enjoy the rides.
