Brouwerij West brewery is finally opening, and they're throwing a party

It's been a long road for Brouwerij West. I first visited the San Pedro brewery back in March of last year, when they had their eyes set on a summer 2015 opening. The company had been brewing its beer for five years without a current home, so snagging the Port of Los Angeles warehouse—120,000 square feet—was a huge step toward creating a permanent space for fans of the Belgian-inspired ales. And the green initiative surrounding the brewery was impressive, including a solar-paneled roof and a mash filter that uses 30 percent less water than traditional breweries. But, of course, delays inevitably happened, and summer came and went.

Finally—finally!—Brouwerij West is ready to open, and they're throwing a giant party for all who want to come and celebrate. On February 27, food trucks, live music and plenty of beer will be on hand, to be enjoyed underneath twinkling lights and amidst beer fanatics. All the classic brews will be available—Saison, Tripel Mør Mør, My First Rodeo and Dog Ate My Homework—along with brand new brews to try, including a hoppy bitter blond and a Wit with sour oranges.

Want to support Brouwerij West from the get-go? The brewery has created a Founders' Club, which you can sign up for here. For $175, you'll be invited to a pre-opening party on February 26, plus there'll be plenty of perks: early access to six Brouwerij West bottle releases, 10-percent off all merchandise and beer, special Founders' Club nights and more.

Brouwerij West is located at the Port of Los Angeles, 110 E 22nd ST, Warehouse No. 9 in San Pedro.
