All's been quiet on the Bon Iver front since 2011's doubly self-titled release, Bon Iver, Bon Iver, but Justin Vernon's folk outfit is coming back in a big way.
Bon Iver will play its first LA show in five years on October 23 at the Hollywood Bowl. But that's not all: Legendary punk poet Patti Smith and Her Band will open the show, along with folk band Hiss Golden Messenger.
You can sign up at Bon Iver's website for access to a pre-sale on Wednesday, June 15, at 10am. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, June 17, at 10am, starting at $32.50.
The last time Bon Iver played LA, the band brought quiet tracks from its first two albums to the Shrine Auditorium. This time around, you can expect to hear some new music—and maybe even a set of entirely new music if the band's upcoming appearance at Eaux Claires is any indication:

Smith, meanwhile, has surfaced in LA much more recently. She presented a collection of songs and poems in honor of her friendship with the late Robert Mapplethorpe this past April as part of the ongoing Robert Mapplethorpe: The Perfect Medium at the Getty.
