Well that was fast.

After a heartbreaking closure last week (and months of very public battles over ownership), the 100-year old Yamashiro is re-opening tonight under new management, segueing into its next chapter before the dust has even settled. Acquired by the Chinese-owned JE Group, Yamashiro will now be run by BNG (Boulevard Nightlife Group), Sugar Factory restaurants and TCL Chinese Theatres—a powerhouse that has some concerned the restaurant will start looking more like a club than a dining destination.

The kitchen is now being run by executive chef Christophe Bonnergrace (Buddha Bar & Little Buddha in Vegas), with plans to revamp the menu and launch a sushi bar while still serving Asian fusion cuisine. Doors will be open from 5pm to 11pm on weekdays, and until midnight on weekends.

And for everyone who was bummed about the Yamashiro Farmers' Market closing last year, there's good news: according to the LA Times, the group is planning on bringing it back in the near future, in addition to hosting after-parties at the TCL Chinese Theatres. If you're one of the couples who booked a wedding at Yamashiro before all of this went down, don't worry—all wedding reservations are still being honored. And if you're not there for a wedding? The view hasn't changed—Yamashiro is still an incredible place to eat, drink and watch the twinkling glow of Hollywood light up our sky.
