Ashton Kutcher is something of an Airbnb expert. After the actor went through an extensively-publicized 2013 divorce from Demi Moore, he spent a year living nomadically in Airbnb apartments around the world. He went on to become a significant investor in the company—and now he is also using Airbnb’s new Places app to share his favorite spots around Los Angeles.
What makes Kutcher’s city guide? A very kid-friendly assortment of picks including the Travel Town Museum in Griffith Park, the Skirball Cultural Center, particularly for their large-scale Noah’s Ark installation, the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium and LACMA. When it’s time to eat and drink, he favors Comoncy in Beverly Hills, specifically the poached-egg avocado toast, as well as ice cream from Sweet Rose Creamery in Brentwood and, to top it off, candy from Westwood’s retro Rocket Fizz shop. If he and wife Mila Kunis head out for a date night, it might include a stroll around Lake Hollywood Reservoir or watching a film at the iPic dine-in movie theater.
Not every guide on the Places platform is a celebrity like Kutcher, though they are all interesting people and experts in their fields. Other Los Angeles guides on the app include Woody Lovell Jr., an expert barber and men’s grooming specialist who founded the Barber Shop Club, and Tina Ross, a bartender at cocktail hotspot Harvard and Stone.
Kutcher and other guides showed off the company’s newest updates last weekend in Los Angeles at the star-studded Airbnb Open event.
