Ladies who love whiskey, this one's for you.

Women Who Whiskey, a whiskey-centric group for women who love the liquor, started in New York City in 2011 and quickly grew to several chapters around the US, as well as a few international locations. On March 19, the first LA chapter is launching with an exclusive Bruichladdich tasting at Seven Grand, one of LA's best whiskey bars. Rémy Cointreau brand ambassador Alex Goode and 213 Hospitality's spirit guide Pedro Shanahan will lead the tasting, bringing together both whiskey newbies and aficionados to explore the spirit.

"Los Angeles is a very egalitarian drinking town," says Kim Ohanneson, the LA Chapter president. "That said, knowledge breeds confidence... I hope to provide the women of Los Angeles with a variety of fun, informative, reasonably priced opportunities to become better acquainted with my favorite spirit.”

Joining Women Who Whiskey is easy (and free!): just sign up on the group's website and you'll be made privy to upcoming events, tastings, tours and more. The LA Chapter is hosting some pretty great events in the near future, like a DTLA mural crawl that ends with a distillery tour and tasting at Greenbar Craft Distillery, and a collaboration with the Museum of the American Cocktail. There's a couple co-ed events, too, for your male buds who want to be in the company of whiskey women in the know.
